Miley Cyrus and Her Much Talked About Simone Camille Carryall

Looks like this week is a Miley Cyrus week for Crossbodypurses. And it’s all about her love of pom pom bags too.

Just a few days ago, we featured Miley and her Balenciaga Giant Pom Pom Bag (click here to read article).

Today is all about her Simone Camille Tier 1 Carryall Tote.

She was spotted sporting this very colorful and very eclectic looking piece  last March 22,  and it has been much talked about since.

In case you haven’t noticed, the Simone Camille Tier 1 Carryall also features fluffy pom pom balls all around the bag apart from the rich embroidery, colorful fabric, mirror and stone embellishments, and metal disc decorations. It is quite a busy and bright piece and definitely not for the faint hearted.

However, for some reason, it looks good on Miley and I think I know why. First of all, she has the personality for it. Secondly, she matched the bag with a colorless outfit (black and neutral) – definitely the ONLY appropriate way to wear this flashy and ornate looking arm candy.

Actually it is no surprise that Miley loves this bag. Simone Harouche, the creator of the Simone Camille line, is Miley’s stylist, so it is just natural for her to wear one of her stylist’s rare creations.

In fact, I have a strong suspicion that the Tier 1 Carryall on Miley was especially made for her because I could not find the exact same color in the designer’s website  (made to order bags is a special service also offered by the Simone Camille line).

If you have eccentric taste and you are digging the Simone Camille Tier 1 Carryall, you may purchase it from the Simone Camille website for US$1,860 (visit www.simonecamille.com).

But if you don’t have bag full of cash to spend for this elaborately decorated piece, you can opt for any of the following colorful crossbody purses instead:

Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford: Bare Faced Beauty in a Crossbody

Here’s a picture of Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford (a.k.a. Lily) on mommy duty. What a beauty, that’s all I can say. Even with no make up, she looks good.

This photo was taken last March 14, when a lot of celebrity parents attended the Disney Crowning event of Princess Tiana of “Princess and The Frog”, held at The Palace in New York.

In Kelly’s arms is her adorable baby daughter, Helena. And oh look at the THAT, across her body is a nice beige colored leather crossbody bag!

The one on Kelly is an easy open bag, very ideal for a busy lady who is on mommy duty at the same time. With a baby in hand, who needs the hassle of having to open a zipper when you need to pick up that ringing cell, right?

So for the busy mommies out there, why not grab an easy open crossbody like Kelly Rutherford’s for a change? Here are 2 wonderful recommendations from yours truly:

This Furla Agata Medium Shopper/Bandoliera is a convertible piece for moms who want options. For an easy open and easy access style, keep the top of the bag standing.

Now if you want to secure the contents of your bag, simply tuck the top portion into the bag and use the zipper to close it. Voila! A new bag shape takes form!

Another great choice is this Tignanello Glam Tote Hobo, a versatile piece of accessory that provides the busy mom both easy open/easy access and zippered options at the same time with its zippered and easy open compartments as seen below.

5 Crossbody Bags that Turn into Totes and More

We just can’t get enough of versatile bags that turn into other handbag styles. The extra options give us more to play on, not to mention allow us to plan more outfits around on.

Inspired by last week’s post on the Lucky Brand Patch Abbey Road Bag, we went looking for more bags that give bang for our buck. Here are 5 crossbody bags that turn into totes and more:

High Fashion Handbags Medium Fold Over Cross Body

The 3″ double metal handles are what sold us on this bag. This is also available in black and ivory (both gorgeous), but the fuchsia pink is the only one with a pebbled leather finish. $186.00 on eBags.com.

Fossil Harper Foldover Tote

Fossil created a winner with this tote when they put contrasting fabric prints on the handles and the bag’s main body. The light and dark floral prints are equally beautiful, but this neutral multi print will be easier to mix and match with. $108.00 on eBags.com.

Joe’s Handbags Denise Fold Over Crossbody

Another crossbody tote in a great pattern, this bag also has a contrasting plain-handle-and-printed-body design. The extra thick foldout handles keep the bag in proportion when used as a tote, and extra long width doesn’t look awkward when it’s folded over as a crossbody bag. Now 33% off, $149.99 at eBags.com.

The Sak Handbags Solana Crossbody

If you’re the kind of person who likes using only one bag for each day, then we suggest going for this one. Its classic design is good enough for everyday, but the sleek black leather, gold hardware, and sassy silhouette will still win over the stylish crowd. Now $125.84 at Zappos.com.

Foley + Corinna Disco City Bag

This is actually a mini version of a different Foley + Corinna bag, but based on the model, it looks like it’s just the right size. It gives the appearance of a big clutch when folded over and worn as a crossbody bag, but it’s still roomy enough as a tote. The rolled handles and the super soft pebbled leather make this bag so lovable. $198.00 at Shopbop.com.
