Sarah Jessica Parker’s candid pictures are instantly recognizable because of one particular fashion habit she does: she always adds color to her outfit. Be it her shoes, her clothes, or even a tiny accessory, I don’t think Sarah Jessica Parker ever leaves the house without at least a smidge of a brightly-colored hue on her person.

Her candid snapshots from today are exactly what I’m talking about – SJP was seen leaving her New York pad and heading into a building where her “Sex and the City” co-star Cynthia Nixon arrived soon after:

Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing just a simple tank top and her favorite corduroy jeans, but being the stylista that she is, she just can’t help but put on a big floppy hat, throw on a leopard print scarf, and carry a big purple suede bag. This bag on SJP was also seen just yesterday, sprucing up Sarah Jessica’s grey hoodie, sand-colored boots, and the corduroy jeans that she loves so much:

SJP’s bag is the Halston Heritage Slouchy Ultrasuede Sac Bag which retails for $295 at Net-A-Porter.com:

If you want a different color other than this bright purple shade, here are other Halston Heritage sack bags to choose from:

These bone and tie-dyed Halston Heritage bags can be purchased through Shopbop.com.

If you worked on a TV series as fashion-forward and as clothes-centric as “Sex and The City”, then it can’t be helped that some of that fabulous style will rub off on your personal taste as well. Take the show’s main star Sarah Jessica Parker for example, whose off-cam candid style has over the years become as enviable as Carrie Bradshaw’s, her “Sex and The City” persona:

Sarah Jessica Parker’s “walk-kid-to-school” outfit

The first picture is from the launch of Sarah Jessica Parker’s new show “Work of Art: The Next Great Artist”, held at the Paley Center for Media in NYC on April 8. She wore a cool and breezy flowing silver dress for the red carpet publicity event, pairing it with blue Nicholas Kirkwood heels and a giant gold heart pendant.

Paparazzi caught Sarah Jessica Parker again the very next day, this time without the glamour and on full mom-duty. The unusually warm New York weather called for a floral tank top, grey jeans and open toe sandals, a simple and comfortable getup for Sarah Jessica to bring her 7-year old son James Wilkie to school.

These two events – a red carpet photo op and walking your kid to school – couldn’t be more different from each other, could they? But Sarah Jessica Parker looks so effortlessly stylish in both of them, not even minding that her pictures will show her using the same bag:

I love it when celebrities use clothes more than once like regular people, especially a style icon like Sarah Jessica Parker.

The bag is very striking, a gorgeous snakeskin-textured black material folded into an envelope clutch and set off by a long silver chain strap. I would use a cross body bag like this for both a formal and a casual event too as the not-too-big yet not-too-small dimension works for both types of occasions.

I went looking for chain strap cross body bags that could go from day to night like SJP’s and these are 3 of what I found:

Rebecca Minkoff Heartbeat Bag, $495.00

Miley Cyrus and Her Much Talked About Simone Camille Carryall

Looks like this week is a Miley Cyrus week for Crossbodypurses. And it’s all about her love of pom pom bags too.

Just a few days ago, we featured Miley and her Balenciaga Giant Pom Pom Bag (click here to read article).

Today is all about her Simone Camille Tier 1 Carryall Tote.

She was spotted sporting this very colorful and very eclectic looking piece  last March 22,  and it has been much talked about since.

Miley Cyrus Wears the Simone Camille Tier 1 Carryall, March 22, 2010

In case you haven’t noticed, the Simone Camille Tier 1 Carryall also features fluffy pom pom balls all around the bag apart from the rich embroidery, colorful fabric, mirror and stone embellishments, and metal disc decorations. It is quite a busy and bright piece and definitely not for the faint hearted.

However, for some reason, it looks good on Miley and I think I know why. First of all, she has the personality for it. Secondly, she matched the bag with a colorless outfit (black and neutral) – definitely the ONLY appropriate way to wear this flashy and ornate looking arm candy.

Actually it is no surprise that Miley loves this bag. Simone Harouche, the creator of the Simone Camille line, is Miley’s stylist, so it is just natural for her to wear one of her stylist’s rare creations.

In fact, I have a strong suspicion that the Tier 1 Carryall on Miley was especially made for her because I could not find the exact same color in the designer’s website  (made to order bags is a special service also offered by the Simone Camille line).

If you have eccentric taste and you are digging the Simone Camille Tier 1 Carryall, you may purchase it from the Simone Camille website for US$1,860 (visit www.simonecamille.com).

But if you don’t have bag full of cash to spend for this elaborately decorated piece, you can opt for any of the following colorful crossbody purses instead:

Fossil Capri Crossbody, US$78

Carlos Falchi Handbags Small Microfiber Grafitti Satchel, US$314

JADETribe Safi Bag, on sale for US$215 at Shopbop.com
