Claudia Schiffer’s Shoulder Bag Picks For Day and For Night

Like the true supermodel that she is, Claudia Schiffer shows us how to stay fashionable even while 7 months pregnant:

Doesn’t she look so enviably amazing? These pictures were taken last March 25 when Claudia was out to drop off her kids at school and to meet a friend at Starbucks. Those are simple everyday tasks that a lot of us regular people do too, but if only we could do them with half the style that Claudia has in these pictures.

Claudia Schiffer is wearing a sweater that lightly skims her baby bump, leggings, and cowboy ankle boots. Her no-nonsense brown shoulder bag is what I would carry too for a day of running errands. It’s got a long enough strap to be worn as a cross body, but I guess it’s more comfortable for Claudia to wear it on her shoulder so that it doesn’t rub against her pregnant belly.

Claudia Schiffer is obviously a fan of this style of handbag because she chose yet another shoulder bag to use, this time for the afterparty of the European Film Premiere of the movie “Kick-Ass”:

Her purse here has a shorter shoulder strap than the one in the day time pictures, but it’s still a hip purse with a long chain strap. I like how Claudia accentuates her belly with a printed dress instead of covering it and I also approve of her choice of wearing flats instead of heels.

Here is my cross body bag pick that would be great for day time like Claudia’s:

Here is a night time cross body purse that you can use at a party like Claudia did:

Lucky Brand Patch Abbey Road Bag

We are loving this new arrival over at eBags.com, the Lucky Brand Patch Abbey Road:

It’s a crossbody bag slash handbag slash shoulder bag. How great are those options?

Lucky Brand came out with the first edition of this bag sometime 2009 (see our review of the first version here). It looks like it was a big hit because just less than a year later, they launched a new design of the Abbey Road bag. Check out the first version, the Abbey Road, compared with the newer Patch Abbey Road:

The earlier version is decidedly more masculine, with its boxier shape and more somber colors. But even though the newer one is made more feminine with the hearts, flowers, and dove patches, all the great elements of the original are still there: the soft rugged leather, the gorgeous topstitching, and the detachable long straps that allow you to carry it 3 different ways.

The Lucky Brand Patch Abbey Road carried as a handbag and a crossbody bag

Carrying it over your shoulder with the top part folded over shows off the bag’s amazing stitch and patch detail (which also extends to the back), but look how roomy it is when carried as a handbag. You could fit a few days’ worth of groceries in there!

It would make a really stylish grocery bag but a really expensive one too: the Lucky Brand Patch Abbey Road retails for $199.00. Waiting a few weeks for it to go on sale might be a good idea, but if you want to be ahead of the trend curve, you have to pay the (full) price. Sometimes, it’s worth it.

Purchase this bag through eBags.com. Both brown and white colors are available.
