So the Mayans were wrong and we are all ecstatic that we get to live longer, have more time to take in the beauty of Earth and all the gorgeous designer bags in it. While browsing over at Shopbop, in celebration of the new year that many feared wouldn’t come, we spotted a beautiful arm candy that made our new year celebration even better. Check out this beauty!
Loeffler Randall The Rider Bag in Natural Mix, $550
Loeffler Randall The Rider Bag in White, $495
The Rider Bag comes in two equally-gorgeous colorways. The Natural Mix rendition boasts exotic snakeskin accents on colorblocked leather and the White version is just the perfect ‘winter white’ bag this season. It has a structured shape with very clean and streamlined lines, making this a timeless purse that will be easy to pair with your outfits. Definitely a great new year treat!

Carly Rae Jepsen is one of the biggest stars of 2012. Because of that one hit song that we now can’t get out of our heads, she became a household name. And so we thought it appropriate to welcome the new year with a feature post about this pop diva who was all over 2012.
Carly Rae Jepsen at the BBC Radio 1 studios, Dec. 11
Carly’s brave take on colors here will not go unnoticed and although the color combinations are wild and bold, she definitely did the color play right! We just love her cobalt blue blazer and the colorblocked Pierre Hardy booties but more than anything else, we can’t take our eyes off of that fab purse! The Coach Legacy Collection has become a crowd favorite and we’ve spotted different versions of it being toted by celebs. But this, so far, is our ultimate favorite. The ocelot print on lush haircalf is just irresistible and the small touch of color on the tassel is just perfect!

The King and Queen of hip hop was spotted doing some last minute shopping a few hours before Christmas eve. Being the millionaires that they are, these music moguls dropped by the most high-end stores in NYC, which got us thinking of the amazing gifts they must have given to new baby Blue Ivy.
Beyonce was looking like the hot momma that she is and it seems like she didn’t have any problem shedding the dreaded post-baby weight. We love her graphic dress which featured a great play of prints and her Diane von Furstenberg 440 bag is also a drool-worthy number!
Beyonce and Jay-Z leaving Bergdorf Goodman in NYC, Dec. 24
The classic beauty boasts elements of stingray leather and embossed croc. The colorway is a heavenly blend of neutrals, which would look great with virtually any color palette, whether with bold prints or your basic black dress. You can snag the gorgeous DvF 440 arm candy in Shopbop.

For all it’s gaudiness, we find this crocheted Dolce & Gabbana bag gorgeous. Perhaps it reminds us of their line of gypsy-inspired maxi dresses which feature bright colors and intricate graphics.
Dolce & Gabbana Crocheted shoulder bag, $1,065
The purse’s approach is straight out kitsch, starting from its bright green crochet pattern lined in hot pink trim. Its strap is an impressive mix of thick colored chains interspersed with gold and silver chain links, sculpted beads and wooden balls. And as if to follow through on its ostentatious design, the bag’s interior is lined in leopard-printed satin and green leather.
It’s a great study on kitsch meets designer but at the end of the day it’s really just an expensive crocheted bag. And if you don’t mind the $1000 price tag then I guess that still makes it a good buy.
You can find the Dolce & Gabbana Crocheted shoulder bag at The Outnet on sale for 40% off.
