Care to Wear Fur?

Fur might be an over-the-top theme for some people but when done right, you have to admit that fur can be beautiful too. This will not be liked by PETA for sure but fur can be a great accessory, an effective detailing or accent to bags. We found two crossbody bags that are both stylish and furry, without being too overbearing.

1. Tory Burch Fur Mini Bag, sale $346.50 (from $495)

This Tory Burch crossbody is made of rabbit fur and features the signature logo medallion of the brand at the front flap. The chain strap has a 20″ drop and a snake-embossed leather detailing. Because it is black, the bag looks like a classic, more toned down version of the usual fur purse.

2. Malene Birger Fickly Shoulder Bag, sale $222.50 (from $445)

The Fickly bag from designer Malene Birger features a bolder design with its ostrich feathers and contrasting black bow. The chain strap is made of antiqued brass and has a 25″ drop. It is also available in Black but the contrasting white feathers and black bow is more appealing to me as it gives off a vintage vibe.

Taylor Swift seems to just love her saddle bag as she has been spotted numerous times carrying this Ralph Lauren Larchmont Crossbody Bag. It is noticeable that lace-up brogues also seem to be an important part of her wardrobe.

The Ralph Lauren Larchmont Crossbody bag features a classic saddle bag look, with a flap closure and a couple of buckle accents. This bag is best when paired with casual clothes. The shoulder strap is adjustable but I prefer the drop to be long, especially when I’m in my casual get-up.

We found another crossbody saddle bag that looks exactly the same, minus the two-toned effect of the Larchmont. The Lauren by Ralph Lauren Tremont Crossbody has all the classic saddle bag details and it is availble in two colors: Lauren Tan and Chestnut.

Lanvin is one of those brands that gets me drooling every time. This luxury French fashion brand has some of the best offerings of bags, among many other things. I love that their accessories have an ultra-feminine vibe but not too over the top that it looks kitschy. It still retains a good sensibility and even mixes a little avant-garde edge to its girly look.

I’m a bit lovestruck over the colorblock pouchette from Marc by Marc Jacobs. The leather crossbody purse jives with 2012 Resort style trends which see bright colors on sporty pieces.

As you can see, this contemporary bag has all the trimmings of fun and adventure we associate with spring. I love the yellow and midnight purple combination, but the other varieties are just as vividly amazing.
