Sandra Bullock Carries Another Crossbody

Sandra Bullock carried another crossbody bag while out and about in New York City. This time, it’s a much larger crossbody than her previous one. Take a look at the two instances where she had this crossbody bag on.

The Blind Side actress is currently in New York City to film her next movie, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. She was spotted on January 28 walking through the snowy streets of New York looking ready to battle the cold in her winter-appropriate ensemble. A large crossbody bag and black fur-trimmed Australia Luxe boots added edge to her winter casual separates.

On January 31, Sandra was again seen leaving her New York apartment in a hoodie, long coat, and the same Australia Luxe boots. She also carried the same crossbody bag.

So on to Sandra’s crossbody. We we’re able to ID it, and it’s the Lululemon Effortless Tote, which is actually a gym bag. Here’s a closer look:

After Bryce Dallas Howard, we’re going to put another Twilight Saga: Eclipse alumnus in the spotlight today. Not that I’m a huge fan of the movie series or anything, but the sight of Kellan Lutz in a crossbody bag is quite an interesting item that just warrants a closer look.

Kellan Lutz was ready for takeoff in a sleek leather jacket, aviator sunglasses, and a crossbody bag as he headed to Los Angeles International Airport last Thursday. I thought there for a moment that he was in action for the cameras because he looked kind of dressed for it. But, oh no, our ever-so-dapper Kellan was just being his usual stylish self in fact.

Well, guys can learn a thing or two with Kellan’s suave style in carrying a crossbody bag. Just notice how well he looks with it. Donning a simple shirt to bring the crossbody bag to focus is wise, while a nice leather jacket, aviator shades and a newsboy cap wouldn’t hurt.

Say what you will about Hot Topic but they’ve got some good stuff there that are hard to find anywhere else. My favorite finds from that store have got to be their messenger bags and laptop bags with geeky graphic prints. They’ve got Superman, Batman, Star Wars, The Flash, Super Mario, Ghostbusters – pretty much all the designs that I imagine comic/sci-fi nerds like the ones from Big Bang Theory would use and would have a lot of in their closets.

I’m no comic buff (though I watch the comic-based movies) but I wouldn’t mind getting some for myself either. I find the backpacks too kiddie-ish and the totes too bothersome to carry, but these messenger bag types are just what I’m looking for:

“IT” Bag of the Moment: Proenza Schouler PS1

Looks like the Balenciaga City Bag and Chloe Paddington have to move over because there’s a new “IT” bag in town – the Proenza Schouler PS1.

I’m featuring it today not because it’s an IT bag, but more because it a crossbody. This one is another piece for you junkies to fall over.

Unlike the Balenciaga, which gained instant stardom upon its release, the PS1’s rise to popularity was actually slow. It was first spotted on Mary Kate Olsen, but got overshadowed by the Paddington and the Arena. Eventually, the PS1 received some (and then more) attention and voila! A new IT bag was discovered!

Of course, being toted around by celebrities like Mary Kate Olsen and Nicky Hilton more than helped fuel its claim to fame.

If we were to omit the colorful adjectives, the PS1 is basically a glorified messenger bag. There’s a top flap with pull-tab straps and a center buckle which folds and locks the flap in place. It comes with a compartment at the front, a top handle, and a zippered compartment at the back.

But we understand why it’s hot. Apart from being a Proenza Schouler, it’s a useful and versatile piece. Women can use it as a laptop bag and as a handbag; it’s like getting two for the price of one. Not to mention it’s easy to carry (being a crossbody and all).

Being a designer piece, the PS1 comes at a certain price, and it isn’t cheap. The large one costs US$1995 while the medium runs at U$1595. If you’re a crossbody fanatic and a designer junkie, then you will probably feel like acquiring this bag is a must (visit Barneys or LaGarconne if you wish to purchase the PS1).

But if you can’t afford it, why force it? You can get the same look without the hefty price tag from other noteworthy pieces. Try these for starters:

In case you didn’t know, May 4 is unofficially declared as Star Wars day. I know, I know, I’m a week too late, but these promo ads for Disney’s Star Wars Weekends didn’t come out until yesterday. So for cross body bags and Star Wars fans out there, here’s a blog post you’d enjoy.
