Tim Gunn Vs. the Kardashian Sisters

These pictures of Kim Kardashian are old (think July 2009 old), but because of the recent news about Tim Gunn not liking the Kardashian sisters’ style, I thought it would be appropriate to bring these out again:

Kim Kardashian wears a minidress, a blazer, big sunglasses and gladiator sandals for a shopping trip in LA

Also, the crossbody bag (worn as a shoulder bag) Kim K.’s using to carry her stuff in these pictures is now available on Shopbop.com:

Kim Kardashian’s Alexander Wang Eniko Gunny Sack in black pebbled leather, $620.00

There’s also a less expensive suede version, although it doesn’t really cost that much less:

Alexander Wang Gunny Sack in navy suede, $580.00

As for Tim Gunn’s alleged “attack” on the Kardashians, his exact words were that although their fashion has a certain sexiness to it, he finds it “largely vulgar” and that it has a “cheapness and a tawdriness”.

You can see where Tim Gunn is coming from, being that he is a respected fashion consultant, an esteemed faculty member at Parson’s, and not to mention a much loved TV personality as a mentor to young designers on Project Runway. However, he can’t discount the fact that there is a huge hype and media interest surrounding the 3 raven-haired Kardashians. Tim Gunn may not agree with the Kardashian sisters’ taste in fashion, but it’s clearly not a requirement in becoming famous anymore.

Do you agree with Tim Gunn or do you like Kourtney, Kim and Khloe’s taste in clothes? Personally, I don’t see any reason to single out the Kardashian sisters because pretty much every starlet in Hollywood dresses the same way they do.

Vanessa Hudgens Loves The Fringed Crossbody

Red is the color of love. But it is also the color of power. There’s nothing like a red bag to show people you’re sexy, confident, daring, and definitely in control. Besides, it’s a great piece of accessory that you can use as a highlight. There are days when all you need to brighten up your look is a red bag. And this basically explains why every girl should have at least one red bag in her closet.
