I cannot anymore count the number of times that Amanda Seyfried’s been spotted with the Alexander Wang Daria Small Duffel Bag. She’s been carrying this bag for so long now that it’s quite safe to say that she must be utterly in love with it.

The Red Riding Hood beauty had her black Alexander Wang Daria with her while out to grab some lunch with a gal friend and her furry buddy, Finn, at Chocoholics in the Larchmont Village in Los Angeles, California on March 8 (left photo). She had the same bag again on March 15 while leaving a Pilates class at a local gym in West Hollywood (right photo). There are more sightings of Amanda and her Alexander Wang aside from these.

How do you like it? It reminds me of the Louis Vuitton Speedy, without the monogram prints and logos, so it’s more minimalist and streamlined. And unlike the Speedy, this one has an added shoulder strap. It also has the same pebbled leather material as the Alexander Wang Rocco, but with far less embellishments as it only has a few buttons to dress it up (the Rocco had lots of studs at the bottom of it). Overall, it’s an elegant, non-fussy, bag that looks versatile and easy to carry.

This Alexander Wang Daria Small Duffel Bag is currently unavailable online. MyTheresa used to have it, but they’re now sold out. Do check that site every now and then in case new stocks arrive.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were spotted out in LA last Wednesday. It must’ve been “quality time with Zuma” day because there was no sight of their first born son Kingston anywhere.

I’ve been seeing a lot of celebrities carrying around these multi-strap, multifunction bags lately. One of them is sexy Latina star turned celebrity mom Jessica Alba, and her shoulder bag slash duffel bag slash cross body bag:

The picture above was taken just three days ago on April 1 when Jessica took her daughter Honor Marie out to lunch with her. Of course there’s no way a Hollywood star like Jessica Alba would be caught dead carrying a cheesy diaper bag, so she lugs all her baby necessities in a nondescript yet still stylish multifunction handbag:

I can see why mom (and even non-mom) celebrities like Jessica Alba increasingly prefer to use bags with lots of straps over single-strap bags. You obviously get more styles out of a single handbag as the straps let you carry it a number of different ways. Jessica Alba in these pictures for example, has to carry Honor Marie in her arms so she carries the bag on her shoulder to keep her hands free. She could use the longer strap and wear the bag as a cross body if she didn’t have a lot of stuff in it, and resort to using the shorter handles and carry it as a shoulder bag or as a tote as she puts more things in the bag.

I initially was averse to multi-strap bags because I feel like the extra straps will always get caught on something. But now, I think the uses that you can get out of this kind of bag overrules that strap problem. Besides, there are always bags that you can buy with detachable straps so you always have the option to leave them on or not.
