The death of Alexander McQueen marked the loss of an exceptional designer in the fashion industry. As for Tim Gunn’s alleged “attack” on the Kardashians, his exact words were that although their fashion has a certain sexiness to it, he finds it “largely vulgar” and that it has a “cheapness and a tawdriness”.

You can see where Tim Gunn is coming from, being that he is a respected fashion consultant, an esteemed faculty member at Parson’s, and not to mention a much loved TV personality as a mentor to young designers on Project Runway. However, he can’t discount the fact that there is a huge hype and media interest surrounding the 3 raven-haired Kardashians. Tim Gunn may not agree with the Kardashian sisters’ taste in fashion, but it’s clearly not a requirement in becoming famous anymore.
