Miley Cyrus and that Gray Fur Messenger Bag

Okay, this is getting harder and harder to ignore.

We thought it was just a one time fluke, but Miley Cyrus is dead set on using that gray fur bag as much as she can. She debuted it the same day she wore that cobweb t-shirt so it took a backseat to that, but it looks like she really wants us to notice that gray fur bag. She’s been seen carrying it around about 3 times in a row now, and it feels like there’s no end in sight:

Miley Cyrus loves fur… on that dog and on that bag

(Yes, she’s also always seen carrying around that adorable puppy, but that needs a post entirely separate from this one. We’ll just focus on the gray fur bag for now.)

No one has ID’ed that bag yet and we haven’t found the designer responsible for this. The fur is fake and it looks really soft, we’ll give ‘em that one, but poor fashion choices like this made by a celeb who has real influence over young and not-so-young kids can result in disaster. This could mean a comeback of the 90s fur that we really don’t want to see again, possibly mixed with current 2010 trends like digiprints, military, and (dun dun dun) BRIGHT COLORS.

So if you see furry, fuzzy bags in eyeball-wrecking colors and prints crowding the shelves of your favorite stores in the near future, then you know who to blame.

It’s difficult to find a fur bag that doesn’t look childish but if we had to choose, it would probably be something similar to the Wabags Yvette Fur Handbag:

Although the chocolate fur is questionably somewhat green, the exquisite mango wooden handles and the leather straps let you know that this purse should be taken seriously. It’s also available in a cow patch pattern, but it looks too much like  real cowhide that you almost expect the bag to look up and blink at you.

The part we like the most about this fur bag? You can use it as a handbag or a crossbody shoulder bag when you attach the adjustable strap.

The Wabags Yvette Fur Handbag retails for $155.00 but if you purchase it within the next 24 hours at eBags.com, you get 20% off of the listed price.

As one of Hollywood’s most coveted brands, it is no surprise that various styles of Rebecca Minkoff bags have been spotted on countless celebrities. One that has immediately caught my attention is the Rebecca Minkoff Clutch. I spotted it first on Keira Knightley. She was donning the embossed black patent version called Morning After Clutch last fall, around November of 2009. Then I spotted the same style in red version on Michelle Trachtenberg soon after.

I find this bag quite unique, it isn’t as tiny as other clutches so you can actually store more inside it, and it comes with a detachable crossbody chain strap that the celebrities obviously love because they wear it the crossbody way. The gold chain strap and gold hardware trimmings are actually my favorite. They make the bag look even more expensive than it already is.

Recently, Rebecca Minkoff reissued this clutch in several versions, confirming to us all that this clutch is simply multi-faceted. To illustrate, here are the most recent renditions of this perennial Rebecca Minkoff clutch, all available by the way, at Shopbop.com:

A Cold Hilary Duff and Her Oversized Hobo Bag

Looks like LA had a cold spell just last week, judging from Hilary Duff’s outfit in this photo taken last January 24:

However, this next photo was also included in the set, and now we’re not so sure of the weather that day anymore:

Hilary Duff and friends going to Mo’s Restaurant in Toluca Lake, CA

Why are Hilary Duff and the girl in front dressed like they’re gearing up for winter but the two people in the back are dressed up like it’s summer? The first two are all in scarves, sweaters and boots while the last two don’t have jackets and even have their sleeves rolled up.

Whatever the weather was really like that day, the whole point of this post is not to contest whether Hilary was appropriately dressed or not, but just to point out how lovely her white hobo bag is (of course, we’re all about the bags over here at CrossbodyPurses):

There wasn’t any available info on this exact bag, but we did find a similar hobo bag at Shopbop.com:

This is the Cleobella Luna Hobo. Although it’s metallic gold and not as oversized, it still has the same laid-back luxurious feel that we like about Hilary’s hobo bag. Its perforated diamond pattern is even similar to Hilary’s knit (or are those eyelets or cutouts?) bag, which extends all the way up the tied shoulder straps.

The best thing about the Cleobella Luna Hobo is that it is now 30% off (purchase it at Shopbop.com). Perhaps you can style it with a more summery outfit, because that hobo bag with the winter clothes doesn’t do it any justice.
